The Seeded Watermelon Mushroom Coral is commonly referred to as the Corallimorphs or Mushroom Anemones.  The Seeded Watermelon Mushroom Coral is best for beginner hobbyists as it is a hardy coral. It can be maintained in the aquariums having live rocks, sand substrates and an medium flow.  It is best to place this coral under indirect light. The Seeded Watermelon Mushroom Coral features stripes and spots with mottled color variations. It has a round disk shape with a watermelon color pattern. It is also referred as "False Coral" as it do not have any internal skeleton as other corals. The Corallimorphs do not contain any polyps for the collection of food; instead the Watermelon Mushroom Coral catches its prey by folding over themselves. It is advisable to keep the Watermelon Mushroom Coral in water having parameters of salinity between 1.025 to 1.027 and temperatures ranging from 74 to 79 degrees Fahrenheit. The aquarium water should contain the phosphate up to 0.05 ppm. Watermelon Mushroom Coral varies greatly in size and can grow up to 7 inches in size and needs a space of 2 inches from other corals. It is preferable to keep it in a tank of at least 30 gallons. The Watermelon Mushroom Coral can protect itself with the natural defensive mechanism, as it has stinging tentacles that can be extended through its cap.
