- Moray eels are aggressive tank dwellers and should be put in a reef system with extreme caution as they are known to prey on smaller fish and inverts.
- They must be handled with care by the aquarist as the moray eel can actually bite.
- Moray eels should have plenty of live rock in their tank - enough to fit their entire body in order to make them feel safe and secure. The tank should have a SEALED lid to prevent potential escapes.
- Morays are carnivores and will eat most prepared frozen foods including brine, mysis, clams, squid, octopus, as well as live prey.
- Morays should not be kept with small fish or inverts and two morays should only be kept in very large tanks (at least 250 gallons).
