Bahama starfish features light green or brown color, and it is one of the hardiest star fish varieties. The Bahama starfishes possess a highly aggressive nature and should not be housed in an aquarium that has snails, clams, anemones and crabs as other inhabitants. The Bahama starfishes are very sensitive to changes in water quality and water salinity, and if the water parameters are not maintained constant that may ultimately lead to their death. The Bahama starfishes grow up to 3-5 inches and should not be housed in a tank less than 20 gallons. Make sure to add plenty of rocks in the aquarium where the Bahama starfishes can hide or graze when required or stressed. Be cautious while keeping the Bahama starfish in a reef tank as it may nip on small crustaceans but not on the corals present. It is best to keep it in a temperature range of 72-78 F, pH 8.1-8.4, and specific gravity 1.020-1.025. We recommend you provide the Bahama starfish a diet that includes vitamin enriched frozen foods such as mysis shrimp and brine shrimp. Also, the Bahama starfishes should be fed with other meaty foods along with a high quality marine pellet food and flakes for its continued good health. The Bahama starfishes are reef safe as it does not nip over the corals, but it is difficult to maintain and care, and requires a careful acclimation, as a result it is only recommended for an experienced aquarist.
