The Bubble Pearl Coral, Plerogyra sp., is also known as the Grape Coral, Small Bubble Coral, Octobubble Coral, or Physogyra Bubble Coral. The Bubble Pearl Coral features large water-filled bubbles covering a large and sharp skeleton. This coral is hardy but takes some time to acclimatize to a new environment. Like many corals, the Bubble Pearl Coral packs a powerful sting so be careful when handling and do not place it near other corals. It is best housed in moderate to high lighting and low to moderate waterflow and never in direct flow. The Bubble Pearl is photosynthetic but will readily accept a carnivorous supplemental diet. It is also sensititve to calcium levels so be sure these are adequate. The Bubble Pearl Coral is easy to care for making it an excellent choice for beginner aquarists.
