The Manybar Goatfish is also commonly referred to as the Red Goatfish. It uses its long barbell to sift through sand and other soft matter to search for food. With its relatively large adult size, this Goatfish needs plenty of space to swim, as well as an abundance of hiding places. The Manybar Goatfish thrives well in a temperature range of 72- 78 degrees Fahrenheit and pH of 8.1-8.4. It requires a tank of not less than 75 gallons and should be fed a variety of meaty saltwater foods such as brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, and squid or krill. It can eat small fish and invertebrates so it is reef safe with caution.
