The Pink Anthias is commonly referred to as the Stocky Anthias, and with its beautiful colored body, it makes a captivating addition to any tank. The Pink Anthias is slightly broader and shorter in morphology that makes it a good species for a smaller tank also. The Pink Anthias does best in a tank of not less than 55 gallons, along with plenty of live rocks and caves to hide or retreat when stressed. The Pink Anthias mainly likes to dwell in the middle of the tank but prefer several hiding places. The Pink Anthias is hermaphrodite and is hard to distinguish characteristics features between males and females. The Pink Anthias shows a unique feature of changing its sex from female to male if required. Its diet should contain zooplankton and other filamentous algae, along with mysis shrimp, vitamin-enriched brine shrimp, frozen preparations and other meaty items for zooplankton feeders. Food should be given several times per day for its continued good health. The Pink Anthias is moderate to care for and should be recommended for intermediate aquarists. The Pink Anthias is semi-aggressive in nature and needs to be kept with other peaceful species. The Pink Anthias thrives well in a temperature range of 72-78 degrees Fahrenheit and pH of 8.1-8.4.
