The Sleepy Sponge Crab (Marcocoeloma trispinosum) is an elusive crustacean that scavenges for detritus among the seafloor. They typically have beige or grey colors, matching that of the substrate around them, and also decorate their carapace with encrusting sponges, to help hide from predators or threats. They primarily inhabit caves, some as deep as 350+ feet down. It is known as the "Sleepy Crab" due to its sluggish movements. They are scavengers, and will likely accept most marine foods.
Onde of the best species to have in a marine tank. Funk, cute and almost harmless. Hope to have another one someday.
