The Streaked Spinefoot (Siganus javus) is a species of Rabbitfish found among the Indo-Pacific Ocean. They have a beige body with dark brown or maroon stripes; some may also have a yellow or gold face. They travel in schools among open waters and reefs and feed on a variety of foods, including mysis, mollusks, and seaweed. As is true for most rabbitfish, the spines of the dorsal fin are venomous, so one should use caution when cleaning the aquarium. They reach a maximum size of 20 inches and should be kept in a large aquarium with fish of similar size.
