The Tiger Serpent Star, Ophioderma sp., is a species of serpent starfish with black and grey striping across its limbs. Its central disc is quite small with very long and thin limbs radiating out. The Tiger Serpent Star has the ability to slowly grow back limbs if it is injured. It should be kept in tanks with a sandy substrate and plenty of rocks for it to hide. The Tiger Serpent Star will scavenge for food but will also take supplements of meaty aquarium foods. They can grow to a max size of 12 inches. The Tiger Serpent Star, like most starfish, they are incredibly intolerant of changes in tank specifications and also should not be exposed to open air.

I got one of these guys on 6/29/16 this guy was small but very beautiful. I would recommend a slow drip acclimation as these guy's are sensitive to changes especially changes in PH so take it slow and check your shipping water for ammonia that may have build up over the time of shipping as that can be dangerous for the little guy. research the acclimation and then enjoy this little beauty.
