With its beautiful vivid blue shade, the Xenia Blue coral makes a beautiful addition to any tank. It needs intermediate care, so we do not recommend it to a novice aquarist. The Xenia Blue coral can be placed at the bottom of the tank and requires lot of live rocks to survive in the tank. It is peaceful in nature and can be kept well in a community fish tank. The Xenia Blue coral needs moderate to high light level for its survival, since it undergoes photosynthesis, and manufactures food and energy using the zooxanthellae that dwells inside its tissue. However, the addition of zooplankton and other foods for filter feeders are beneficial and aids in promoting both health and color development. The Xenia Blue coral features elegant polyps dressed in a vibrant and breathtaking blue coloration. Proper lighting combined with moderate water current within the aquarium will help maximize this coral?s growth apart from additional supplements of iodine and other trace elements. The Xenia Blue coral comes attached to a piece of rock, and under proper conditions, these colonies will grow out and cover adjacent rock, giving a mat-like appearance. This species grows rapidly under proper conditions, and should be kept in an established reef aquarium. It should also be kept away from other soft corals and sessile invertebrates to allow adequate space for growth. It can also be aquacultured in the tank to reduce the stress on our ocean?s fragile reefs.
